Hello,

I am pleased with the pants made and the services provided by Ms Thu? or Trang? (cannot recall her name ) but her customer service is great!  The pants are well-made and the only complaint I have is only the price.  It is a bit steep compared to similar quality in Bangkok or Singapore.  Despite the price tag, I will still go back to Cao Minh for more orders in the future cos it still gave me a lot of assurance for fine workmanship and quality clothing.

Dear Kien,Thank you very much for your survey. One of the suits (the one I checked completely in the shop) is very nice. Unfortunately I did not check the other one as I was told in the shop that it is exactly the same. As I had requested specific dephts for some pockets and one had to be corrected I assumed that at least the other ones were ok. Now I found that the top outside pocket is not deep enough to fit my busines cards (1cm missing) and the pocket for the pen is blocked because the thread line which fixes the inside material to the top garment goes diagonal through this pocket which results im a maximum depth of only 5 cm instead of 15. Now I have to give it to a taylor here in Germany to fix it, which cost me min. additional 20 Euro.

I hope you will improve you internal quality check in the future. Do not promise something you have not checked.

I am doing well thanks. I am extremely happy with the quality of the shirts i bought. The service was really good, your sales person spent alot of time with me going through step by step the way in which to build a shirt. She offered me many choices and alternatives in fabrics and the use of an ipad was very smooth. However the shirts when made did not fit the first time, i had to make a follow up visit after they were refitted in order to get the size correct however the final product was really good. Sorry for taking so long to send you some proper feedback, I have been away travelling with work.
 
I have now worn the shirts, washed and ironed them a few times and they are really looking very good. The attention to detail on the two latest fabrics is absolutely perfect - the placket matches and the sleeves and yoke are spot on !!
 
The fabrics are great, they both feel very soft to wear and the fit is excellent. I am really happy with the shirts.

The buttons also look brilliant, and they are sewn on really well as you can see in the photo, I am very glad we waited for them.

 I am looking forward to ordering again from you towards the end of the year. However, in the meantime, you know what kind of fabrics I like, so if you have something that comes in to the shop which is new and you think I would like it, please dont hesitate to

send me a photo of the fabric.

Hi Mr Calvin and Kien,

The shirts have arrived and I am very happy with them. 

The split yoke is just a tiny bit out on the striped shirt but is still ok (although for my next order it would be good to get this absolutely perfect :). The sleeve matching is excellent, and I like very much how the placket matches perfectly the stripes on the front of the shirt. Really nice attention to detail.

One small thing though, the buttons are plastic and not shell, they still look ok, but dont have quite as nice look or feel as the genuine shell ones. I did a small melting test with a tiny piece I sliced off the spare button to confirm and it smelt of burning plastic when I melted it on a hot plate.
 
I want to wear and wash the shirts you have just sent me a few times to get a proper feel for them, but I really like the red and blue striped SOKTAS fabric. The design is really colourful and it looks great, it has a nice smooth feel to the fabric. Thanks as well for the fabric swatches, I will certainly be ordering some more shirts in the future when I have decided which ones as I think the whole process was very easy and I am pleased with the two shirts.
 
I will give you more detailed feedback about the fit and feel after I have washed, ironed and worn them for a bit, as they will probably change a little during that time.

I don’t know if you are aware of problem that we had with linen fabric color for Philip Keitel’s suit. In the sample book it was a darker beige color, but when suit was finished, it looked like a darker yellow color which was not acceptable.  Luckily, we had another suit made with cream color Irish linen same as David Keitel’s suit.  People in shop told us that it must have been due to a different allotment of fabric.  I suggest that you make up a new fabric book every time that you receive a new allotment of fabrics (or take out old sample and insert sample of new allotment) so that this problem does not happen with other customers.  Thank you,

Of all the places in the world, what a coincidence that you lived in San Jose...exactly my city...and went to De Anza. My wife is Vietnamese -both beautiful and intelligent.

 

I had a chance to do some checking. The shirts I bought at Cao Minh were indeed Soktas. I didn't remember that. Attached is a photo of two of my favorites. As the label shows, they are "Fast Forward" by Soktas. I paid 1,590,000 VND each, which was $100 at the time (4 years ago).

 

Do you have something very similar to these two shirts...maybe the exactly same color? I am especially interested in the pink color. What would the cost be for that fabric?

 

Yes, I could send both my measurements and a sample shirt. I really wish I was instead travelling to VN. Maybe I should wait until my next trip? But, I don't know when that will be. I do love your country. The most interesting part was way in the north, near Lao Cai. Have you ever been near there? We weren't actually in Lao Cai...just near there.

I received yesterday your shipment with the 7 jackets you made + the 3 models.
We are very pleased with the 5 jackets (1Ao vet nam + 4 4Ao vet nu) but there is a very big problem with the other 2 (Ao mang to):
Indeed, you tailored them according to the size of the model AND NOT ACCORDING TO THE MEASURES TAKEN ON ME IN YOUR SHOP!
Therefore, these two jackets are much too big and totally useless!
It should have been obvious that the mesures were not similar to the one of the Blazer you tailored for me so I cannot understand why you made such a mistake.
Anyway, I see 2 solutions: either you credit back the amounts paid to my credit card (VND 7'562'000 and VND 19'200'000) or you tailor and ship the 2 jackets again at your own expenses. Do not forget I am a faithfull customer.

i have received my shirts from a friend who returned to Singapore. 

Overall, the workmanship is good. Cutting is just nice too. 

My only issue, is that, when i was choosing the cloth for my shirt at the outlet, the staff was unable to find the stock code for that particular cloth somehow. I had to choose another textile in the end. You may wish to look into that.

I will not hesitate to come back and recommend you to my friends.

 

If I just could make one suggestion, it would be about something you might be doing already, but that I have not asked about. I am looking for some everyday shirts "with a twist", that is something a bit different from the standard white shirt, like a inner collar and wrists with a different colour...

Sorry for responding so late, I have been extremely busy. Initially I was booked to return fairly early to Vietnam, but my trip was postponed twice and eventually cancelled for this year. I was looking forward to come to the shop and discuss my suit, but finally I could not. I have mailed you the pants of the suit, with a sample of a pair of pants that fit me well. You probably have received them by now. I had tried a few times to wear the suit, but the pants just dont fit and 'sit' properly. I have some suits with the european skinny legs, which I don't particularly like, because I prefer the american, more lose fitting pants. But they should be straight! What I received from the shop was a pair of pants round in the hips, too wide, then slimming down to slim at the knees, even skinnier than the skinny european pants that I dont like! The taylor had already noticed that the pant legs were too skinny, but the effort made on the last day that I was there to correct it, was wasted, as there was not enough material in the pant legs to let them out. I hope he can do something with the sample provided. Please let me know that the pants have arrived in the meantime.

The girl working at the store close to Dong Khoi Street was very friendly and attentive. However, the tailor working at the store may care to be a little more friendly, despite limited English. A greeting or a smile when entering the store makes a very big difference to customers.

Here is some feedback.  I bought 1 suit 1 month ago and 1 tuxedo last week.

 

Suit

- Fit is good.  Tailor at shop quite experienced.

- I bought a Super 130s material suit but when I went home discovered that they had put the Super 110s label on the lining.  I went back to ask them why and they reassured me that it was a mistake by the tailor and in the 'system' it is the right material.  I felt the staff were quite pushy and a little arrogant on insisting that they were right.

 

Tuxedo

- Got another tuxedo and thought it was a little tight.  However, the staff again insisted that it was ok and the cut followed the exact same dimensions from the previous suit bought.  I came back home and my wife also agreed that it was a little tight around the waist and didn't look as good as the earlier suit.  I will try to bring back when I am next in HCM and see what the staff have to say.

 

Conclusion - overall I think the workmanship and quality is good but you need to work on the professionalism of the people working in the store.

Thank you for taking the time to write.
 
I am generally happy with my shirts thank you.  I do offer a couple of suggestions though.
 
1.  I usually buy shirts  by Boss, Clavin Klein, Reiss and prefer the modern look.  It was quite difficult for me to get the people in the shop to understand that I wanted a 'slim fit'.  After alterations, the fit is now OK.  But they seemed to have no concept of slim fit.
 
2.  I also prefer my collars to be soft.  Those on my Cao Minh shirts are very stiff indeed.  Perhaps you could offer customers a choice?  The collars are also probably 1cm to big, but when I tried them on, I was more focussed on the fit of the shirt on the body.
 
3.  I like the quality of the material and the overall finish of the shirts.  I liked being able to choose from the different styles on offer.
 
I hope this helps to provide a better service.
